Bolton Wanderers boss Ian Evatt makes pledge to wing-back options in his squad

IAN Evatt is confident he can keep all his wing-back options happy in the coming months at Wanderers.

Conor Bradley and Jack Iredale have commanded the most playing time in League One so far of the wide options but Declan John, Kieran Sadlier and Owen Beck are also lining up for their chance.

Evatt says he has had no issues with Wales international John, who was linked with a move away from Bolton at the end of the summer transfer window.

And he says each of his wing-backs will be used when the right situation arises.

“Obviously, everybody wants to play every game and if you are not and don’t want to play every game, then you are in the wrong business,” he said. “We get that, but we have to share the pressure and share the workload out and I think the reason we bought Jack (Iredale) in was to give us a different type of left wing-back.

“Possibly more defensive, definitely more physical, and different games require different personnel and it’s great that we can share the role between the three of them because it’s a really difficult role, especially in this system and the way I want to play.

“Our wing-backs can score goals, but they also have a responsibility to defend and it does not take a rocket scientist to work out there is a huge distance between one goal to the other, and they need to cover both.

“It is really difficult, physically, but they are managing really well and we are really pleased with everyone we’ve got.”
