(CNN) — Shipping through the Suez Canal was briefly suspended on Thursday after a ship ran aground. However, during that incident, traffic was able to resume through the waterway from an alternate route, the police said. Suez Canal Authority [SCA] it’s a statement.
The ship is reportedly a Panamanian-flagged Coral Crystal and had been refloated, SCA added. She has resumed maritime traffic.
Today’s incident comes nearly six months after the Ever Given, one of the largest container ships ever built, got stuck in the channel for six days in March.
