UN grants 72 hours for evacuation of families of staff based in Ethiopia


(CNN) — UN Designated Official for Ethiopia Vera Songwe has recommended the immediate evacuation of families of UN international staff based in Ethiopia within 72 hours from Monday.

Meanwhile, the UN continues to monitor the growing threat of the conflict reaching the capital, Addis Ababa. The predetermined trigger points would lead to the mandatory evacuation of all non-essential international UN personnel, according to a UN source on the ground.
